Meet Muhammad Ismail Akoonjee
Muhammad Ismail Akoonjee — AGA(SA)
An accomplished Associate General Accountant (AGA) with over 6 years of experience in accounting, audit, taxation, and business advisory. Coming from a lineage of traders, business is in his blood. Practical first-hand business experience of 8 years gained in the retail and wholesale industry. A graduate of the University of South Africa, he holds a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences in Financial Accounting and is a proud member of SAICA (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants).
His experience spans across industries including retail, wholesale, legal, medical, and investment property companies, giving him valuable insights into the diverse financial needs of South African businesses and individuals.
Muhammad has managed complex SARS audits, conducted internal and external audit engagements, prepared detailed financial statements, and led engagements of private group companies and high-net worth individuals. His hands-on involvement in due diligence, feasibility studies, deceased estate administration, asset disposals, and business valuations demonstrates his well-rounded advisory skillset.
He has also gained public sector experience through various secondments to the Auditor-General of South Africa.
